Primal Spirits Distillery was born from a belief that great spirits begin long before the first pour. They begin with curiosity, precision and a willingness to question convention.

Inspired by chemistry and driven by engineering, we approach distillation as both a science and a craft. Every botanical is chosen with intention. Every recipe is refined through experimentation. Every spirit is an opportunity to explore flavour, balance and the remarkable possibilities hidden within nature.

ROOTED IN JOHANNESBURG

Based at Victoria Yards, we're part of a community of artists, makers, entrepreneurs and independent businesses who believe that creating something meaningful starts by investing in the place you call home.

Many of our botanicals are grown or foraged locally, allowing the landscapes, flavours and biodiversity around us to become part of every bottle we produce. From the rare Rex Union Orange to indigenous herbs and roots, our spirits reflect the character of Southern Africa through thoughtful distillation rather than imitation.
